Texas father arrested in accidental shooting of daughter, 10

COLLEYVILLE, Texas -- A North Texas man was arrested after accidentally shooting his 10-year-old daughter late Saturday, a spokesperson told reporters Sunday.

The girl was injured late Saturday, reported the Dallas Morning News. Her father, Steven Johnson, had been showing visitors a handgun at their home when the gun fired.

The bullet traveled through a wall and hit her while she was in another room, the spokesperson, Mona Gandy, told the newspaper. The child's condition was not known, added Gandy.

Johnson, 53, was arrested on a charge of injury to a child, according to the Dallas Morning News.
