Tennessee mother of 3 reportedly killed in front of her kids

COVINGTON, Tenn. -- The family of a mother killed in her home on Wednesday tell CBS affiliate WREG that her three children were in the room when she was shot.

Windal Edwards, 33, is accused of shooting his girlfriend, Crystal Herbert-Weathers, also 33, multiple times.

WREG reports that Edwards pointed a gun at one of Herbert-Weathers' children before she ran for help. After the shooting, Edwards reportedly fled the scene but was later arrested at a relative's home.

Edwards was charged Wednesday afternoon with one count of first-degree murder and one count of felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held without bond at Tipton County Jail.
