The show premiered as the season's No. 1 new series premiere in viewers and adults 18 to 49, according to Nielsen ratings for Monday, Oct. 26.

The series premiere averaged 12.94 million viewers, and was the top series among 18 to 34, 18 to 49 and 24 to 54; it was also the top scripted drama on Monday in viewers and key demographics. "Supergirl" producers have said that they believed the show was "genderless" and would attract all types of viewers.

"Supergirl" also experienced the highest traffic for a show premiere on CBS.com, and was the most popular drama on social media on Monday.
