Super PAC raises $4 million in case Hillary Clinton runs

The group Ready for Hillary, which will file a report with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) later this month, says it raised that amount from more than 33,000 Americans, with 98 percent of donors giving $100 or less. The group held events around the country to rally support for Clinton and raised most of its funds in the second half of the year.

Ready for Hillary executive director Adam Parkhomenko said in a statement that the group exceeded its fundraising goals for the year, calling the organization and its support “unprecedented.”

“We will continue to build capacity across the country to put Hillary in the strongest position possible should she decide to run,” he said.

Clinton told ABC’s Barbara Walters last month that she would make a decision about a presidential bid sometime this year. Since leaving the State Department she has made a slight move back into the political arena, recently campaigning for Virginia Gov.-elect Terry McAuliffe during his campaign ahead of the November election.

While super PACs like Ready for Hillary and Priorities USA are already organizing support for Clinton’s potential bid, other groups like the Stop Hillary PAC are already mobilizing her opposition.
