Sunday: Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, and an Iowa preview

The candidates are racing to secure an advantage in the final few days before the Iowa caucuses, and this Sunday, "Face the Nation" will bring you the latest on campaign 2016, just one day before voters in the Hawkeye State formally kick off the election.

We'll sit down with Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, who opted out of Thursday night's GOP debate, about how he hopes to close the sale. In Iowa, most polls show him with a narrow lead over Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and in New Hampshire, he's holding a fairly wide lead over the rest of the field. Can he hold his strong position as voters head to the polls?

We'll also talk with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who's hoping to emerge as the mainstream consensus candidate and take the fight to Cruz and Trump. He continues to impress in debates and on the stump, but he's not quite broken from the pack - can he break out in time for it to matter?

We'll get an update on the landscape for both parties in Iowa from CBS News Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes and CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett, who are both camped out in the Hawkeye State until the caucuses.

And we'll speak with J. Ann Selzer, the pollster with Bloomberg News and the Des Moines Register, about what the numbers look like on the eve of the caucuses and who's holding the momentum in the final stretch. Selzer's final poll before the caucus will be released Saturday night, and we'll discuss those results.

And as always, we'll have an expert political panel to break it all down, including The Wall Street Journal columnist Kim Strassel, the Washington Post's Ed O'Keefe, Vox's Ezra Klein, and the Federalist's Ben Domenech. It's going to be an exciting broadcast, so don't miss it!
