Stolen 3-month-old kitten returned with apology note
MINNEAPOLIS - A man stole a 3-month-old kitten from a Minneapolis pet store, only to return it the next day with an apology note.
Ruff Start Rescue partners with PetSmart on pet adoptions. Its cat intake coordinator, Abbey Lynn, tells CBS Minnesota a man went into a Minneapolis PetSmart on Friday asking to look at the cats. When the man was done, a manager locked up the cages and left him alone.
Another employee walked by shortly after and noticed a lock on one of the cages had been cut with a bolt cutter and a kitten named Wednesday was missing.
Following the theft, Lynn sprung into action and posted security images of the alleged thief on social media. Several people shared her post and the following day, the kitten was returned unharmed in a box at a Roseville PetSmart with a note that read, "It was going to be a Valentine's Day present and I had no money... I'm sorry."
