Stepson of dead South Carolina man charged with murder

UNION, S.C. - A South Carolina man who was named a person of interest in his stepfather's disappearance is in custody and charged with murder, reports CBS affiliate WSPA.

Travelle Lamar Burros, 41, of Union, S.C., was taken into custody without incident, according to the station. Authorities had been searching for him since his stepfather, 61-year-old Raymond Davis, was pronounced missing on Tuesday.

Union Public Safety Officers told WSPA that a body found in a wooded area near the home on Wednesday afternoon was that of Davis.

Authorities said that a relative of Davis called police Tuesday, concerned about the man's welfare. Earlier in the day, Davis and his stepson had gotten into an argument, reports the station. Public Safety investigators then searched Davis' residence and found blood in the kitchen, leading officials to determine that foul play was possibly a factor in the disappearance.

Officials are still investigating.
