Stephen Colbert's premiere "Late Show" episode to run long
Stephen Colbert's premiere "Late Show" episode will run long next week.
CBS announced Thursday that the incoming host's debut will be extended to 12:44 a.m. ET, pushing back the start-time of "The Late Late Show With James Corden."
Colbert has a jam-packed first episode prepared with Oscar winner George Clooney and Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush as guests. Viewers can also expect a performance by "Late Show" bandleader Jon Batiste, his band Stay Human and other "special guests." Perhaps those unknown (at least to the public) guests are the reason for the time extension.
Colbert's other first-week guests include Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, Scarlett Johansson, Stephen King and Amy Schumer.
The "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" premieres Tuesday at 11:35 p.m. ET.
