"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" to be screened in space

Some of the biggest fans of "Star Wars" aren't lined up outside a theater waiting for opening night -- they're orbiting high above the Earth on the International Space Station. But that doesn't mean they'll miss the fun. NASA has apparently arranged for a screening of the film in space.

British astronaut Tim Peake, who arrived at the space station Tuesday, revealed on Twitter: "We have a projector & screen onboard & I'm told that @starwars will be waiting for us up there...what a place to watch it!"

Space Station commander Scott Kelley is looking forward to it too:

The space station crew has gotten some help from Hollywood before. In September, movie night meant a screening of "The Martian" -- a glimpse into what the future may hold for astronauts on a journey to Mars someday.

And in April, Kelly tweeted about watching "Gravity" in zero orbit, putting the station's new HD projector to good use.
