"Star Wars: Episode VII" resumes filming after Harrison Ford injury
The force is back on J.J. Abrams' latest film set.
Production resumed on "Star Wars: Episode VII" this week at Pinewood Studios in the U.K., a source has told The Hollywood Reporter.
Shooting on the long-awaited sci-fi fantasy sequel had been delayed for several weeks after Harrison Ford suffered from a broken ankle in June while filming scenes as his beloved character, Han Solo.
The 71-year-old actor had to be airlifted from the set and required surgery as well as rehab following the injury.
In addition to Ford, original trilogy stars Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher -- who played siblings Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia -- will also reprise their roles in "Episode VII."
The upcoming film is intended to be the first in a new trilogy from Disney, which bought Lucasfilm for over $4 billion in 2012.
Despite the lag in production, "Star Wars: Episode VII" is still expected to open in theaters on its original release date -- Dec. 18, 2015.
