Squirrel enjoys view from police car

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A squirrel that ended up in the back seat of a Michigan police car is, um, out of the woods.

According to the the Grand Rapids Press, the animal hopped inside a Grand Rapids police cruiser on Thursday, apparently through a half-opened rear window, out of simple squirrel curiosity.

The police department in the state's second largest city posted a photo of the squirrel on its Facebook page (that would be the department's Facebook page, not the squirrel's). It shows the bushy-tailed rodent peering out the back windshield.

The squirrel soon found its way to freedom.
