"Sons of Anarchy" season 7: On the set with Charlie Hunnam

The final season of "Sons of Anarchy" kicked off Tuesday and only ET was on the set with Charlie Hunnam.

"For me it's just kind of bittersweet," said Hunnam. "As you can see we're all very close. We've become really dear friends."

In six seasons, "Sons of Anarchy" became the most-watched show in America's prisons. Nationwide, they pull in more than seven million viewers -- almost half of which are women. Hunnam explained the appeal the show has for women, saying, "Females also need that escape fantasy. I think that's really refreshing and the reason, apart from my great ass, that we got such a huge female following."

The season 7 premiere of "Sons of Anarchy" aired Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
