Son of reality TV star charged with murder in woman's death

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. -- The son of a reality television star allegedly shot and killed a woman while at a family gathering, according to police.

CBS Miami reports that Hashim Pew, whose father Kevin Pew stars on the show "Storage Wars: Miami," is accused of killing 20-year-old Janel Hamilton as family members watched television in another room.

Hamilton had recently moved to Pembroke Pines from London, and was staying with her godmother, who is Pew's mother, according to family. She planned to attend law school in January.

Family told police they heard a shot, and then saw Hamilton lying on the ground. Pew then allegedly walked over to Hamilton and discharged the firearm again striking her a second time.

Police said Pew's father and brothers tackled him and took away the gun.

"While laying on the floor Pew said, 'She's dead as (expletive) dawg,'" police wrote in the arrest report.

Pew has been charged with first degree murder.
