"So You Think You Can Dance" winner facing domestic violence charges

Joshua Allen, winner of the fourth season of "So You Think You Can Dance," has been charged with domestic abuse and could face over a decade in state prison, the Los Angeles County District Attorney said Thursday.

Allen "faces two felony counts of willfully injuring a girlfriend after a prior conviction and one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon, a glass vase," the report stated.

Allen was convicted of injuring his girlfriend earlier this year in January and was issued a restraining order. Prosecutors now allege that Allen assaulted and strangled the same woman in April and attacked her again in June.

If convicted, Allen could spend more than ten years in state prison. Prosecutors will request a bail of $270,000.

After winning "So You Think You Can Dance" in 2008, Allen went on to appear in the films "Step Up 3-D" and "Footloose" and appear on the Fox reality competition as an all-star.
