Small plane crashes in St. Petersburg, Florida, park

A small plane crash landed in a St. Petersburg park Monday morning.

There were four people on board, and two of them were left in serious condition, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Vinoy Park, where the plane crashed, is near a small airport. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Police identified the pilot as Grant Jordan, although no age was provided. Police also said a 16-year-old was on board.

CBS affiliate WTSP in Tampa reports the other three passengers were men, although their age is not yet clear.

Witnesses told WTSP the plane attempted to land in the park before clipping a tree and crashing. TWSP is also reporting the plane had apparent engine troubles before the crash.

The FAA released a statement saying the plane was a Piper PA-28 aircraft and they are investigating.
