Gunman dead, at least three injured in Wash. St. school shooting

MARYSVILLE, Wash. -- Police say the gunman in a Friday morning shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, in Marysville, Wash., is dead.

The gunman has been identified as Jaylen Fryberg, 14, reports CBS affiliate KIRO.

At least three people are critically injured with head wounds, according to a nurse at Providence Regional Hospital in Everett, Wash.

Police said they received a 911 call reporting shots on campus around 10:30 a.m.

"We got notification from somebody on campus," said Commander Robert Lamoureux of the the Marysville Police Department.

After the shooting, some students were seen being evacuated from the school, walking out and across a nearby field with their hands up. Others were told to stay inside classrooms.

Some were bused to a nearby church, and police are asking that parents not try to approach the school.

Ayn Dietrich-Williams, a spokeswoman for the FBI in Seattle, said agents are on their way to Marysville to offer assistance.
