Selfies with suburban Atlanta gator? Bad idea, police warn

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. --Officials in Peachtree City, Georgia, are warning residents not to feed an alligator who has taken up residence in a town creek, reports CBS affiliate WGCL.

Sightings of the alligator prompted the Peachtree City Police Department and Fire Rescue to post a Facebook warning to residents, asking them to "leave Flat Creek Floyd" alone.

That warning cautioned against "feeding him" or "disturbing him," and in particular, "taking selfies with him," an action described as "ill advised."

The post came after a resident posted a photographer's photo of the creature on April 20.
