Search on for "Gummy Bear Bandit" after bizarre N.M. heist

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico -- Authorities say they are searching for a man who walked into an Albuquerque convenience store, grabbed a handful of gummy bears, and then nearly ran over a clerk.

KRQE-TV reports that the man casually strolled into the store, yanked the gummy bears and then tossed some of the candy at the entrance.

A video posted by Albuquerque police captured the man stealing the candy before trying to run over a chasing clerk with his car.

Investigators say no one was injured during the bizarre heist.

Albuquerque police identified the man as Greg Romero and say he is facing a number of charges, including two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
