Sean "Diddy" Combs is Forbes' highest-paid rap star

When it comes to rap stars and money, Sean "Diddy" Combs is tops. The 45-year-old hip-hop mogul leads Forbes' list of highest-paid rappers.

The Harlem, New York, native raked in an estimated $60 million between June 2014 and June 2015 according to Forbes, which tallies investments from both inside and outside the music world. In addition to his music career (he's currently working on a new album), Diddy is also behind such ventures as the TV network Revolt and Ciroc vodka.

In second place was Jay Z, 45, who earned roughly $56 million over the same time-frame. Like Diddy, Jay Z dabbles in money-making ventures, including his entertainment company Roc Nation and Armand de Brignac champagne. Plus, he has wife Beyonce by his side, which Forbes says ups his cash flow.

Canadian rapper Drake landed in third place; Forbes estimates that his tours bring in about $1 million per night.

Nicki Minaj was the only woman to make it into the top 10 earners (at No. 9), earning an estimated $21 million from touring and endorsements.

Other hip-hop stars making the top 10 include Beats co-founder Dr. Dre and rappers Eminem and Kanye West.
