Scott Walker teases "big announcement" on Twitter

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker told his Twitter followers to stay tuned for a "big announcement" on Wednesday morning, urging them to "sign up to hear the news first" by visiting his website.

The governor has been weighing a 2016 presidential bid, and his tweet raised all sorts of questions among political observers: Was Walker going to stage a surprise launch of his 2016 candidacy? If so, why would he make an announcement like that on April Fool's Day? And would he wear a cheese-head during his kickoff speech?

Alas, it was not to be. At 10 A.M., Walker unveiled his hotly-anticipated "big announcement," and it was about basketball, not politics.

The University of Wisconsin men's basketball team, the Badgers, landed a spot in the NCAA Final Four last Saturday by beating the Arizona Wildcats 85-78. They'll face the Kentucky Wildcats next Saturday, and the victor of that game will compete in the NCAA championship game the following Monday.
