School bus slams into suburban Philadelphia home

BLUE BELL, Pa. -- No one was injured when a school bus slammed into a suburban Philadelphia home.

Officials say nine students from St. Helena School were aboard when the bus crashed around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday in Blue Bell, Whitpain Township.

Township officials say the driver of the Wissahickon School District bus was taken to Abington Hospital. A person inside the home was not injured.

Images show the back end of the yellow school bus sticking out of the living room area of the home on winding Windermere Drive. CBS Philly's Chopper 3 HD was over the scene shortly after the crash where it showed nearly half of the school bus inside of the home.

Whitpain Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

St. Helena School is a Catholic school in Blue Bell serving students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grades.

The school's phones had a busy signal Tuesday morning. The principal didn't immediately return an email message.
