San Francisco man arrested for murder of his girlfriend

SAN FRANCISCO--Police arrested a San Francisco man for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, who died Tuesday in their apartment, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

Jules Sibilio, 48, was charged Thursday, but did not enter a plea.

Police say 42-year-old Mary Atchison died of blunt-force trauma.

Sibilio and Atchinson had lived in the San Francisco duplex apartment for 10 years, the building's landlord, Jerry Vail, tells the San Francisco Chronicle.

Firefighters who responded to the scene notified police after determining that the circumstances of the death were possibly suspicious.
