Texas girl kidnapped in 2002 found safe in Mexico

AUSTIN, Texas - A young Texas girl who police say was kidnapped more than a decade ago by her mother has been found safe in Mexico, reports CBS affiliate KEYE.

Sabrina Allen was reported missing in April 2002 at the age of 5 by her father, Gregory Allen.

Gregory Allen, who had been granted sole custody of Sabrina as part of a divorce agreement, told police that Dara Llorens, his ex-wife, who is also the child's mother, failed to return to the child to his home, as required by the divorce agreement, according to an affidavit.

Sabrina, now 17, and Llorens, 44, were located in Mexico Tuesday as part of an operation conducted by Mexican federal authorities, the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service, reports the Austin Statesman.

Both Llorens and Sabrina were transported back to the U.S.

Llorens was arrested on a charge of aggravated kidnapping and is being held at the Travis County Jail in Texas on $300,000 bail.
