Watch: Stuntman surfs on motorbike in "near-death experience"

Robbie Maddison knows about defying gravity on his motorbike. He's done a backflip over London's Tower Bridge. He's jumped over the Corinth Canal in Greece. And he's soared over the Arc de Triomphe (well, the replica in Vegas, anyway).

But now the Aussie stuntman has taken his talents to the beach. A dramatic new video shows Maddison piloting a modified dirt motorbike on a wave in Tahiti.

"The thing that sticks with me the most after that whole experience was how physically demanding it was," the 34-year-old daredevil told Surfer Magazine.

In fact, the fearless daredevil admits that he thought the stunt might be his last.

"You can't see that when the wave broke right behind me, I honestly thought that might be the end of my life. I've never felt like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time more than I did right there," he told the magazine. "It was a near-death experience. At the end of the day, the images and footage say something pretty awesome, but the ferocity and how gnarly that thing was can't really be put into words."
