Report: Home searched in Holly Bobo case, man arrested

DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. -- A Tennessee man has been arrested on an unrelated assault charge as his home is searched in connection with the case of long-missing nursing student Holly Bobo, reports CBS affiliate WREG.

Zachary Adams, 29, appeared in court Monday morning in the unrelated case, in which he's accused of holding a gun to a woman's head at his home Feb. 6 and threatening to "gut" her with a knife, reports the Jackson Sun.

A judge set bail at $1 million in that case, and Adams told a reporter "I'm not the one" as he was led from the courtroom after the arraignment, reports the paper.

Adams has not been named as a suspect in Bobo's disappearance. The young woman was 20 when she vanished in April 2011 from her home in Parsons, Tenn, about 110 miles southwest of Nashville. Her brother said he saw a man in camoflauge leading her into the woods.

Investigators said the search warrant executed at Adam's property was among several in surrounding counties, and that the investigation could last days, reports WREG. Investigators from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have been searching Adams' property since Friday, reports the station.

Investigators wouldn't confirm what they were searching for, but at least two vehicles were reportedly towed away from the property and a cadaver dog was brought in to aid in the search, reports the station.

"To say we have a suspect in this case would be premature," a TBI spokesperson said, reports the station. "We have been working leads on this case which led to the search warrant executions."

Adams' property in Decatur County is about 15 miles from Bobo's home. A small Bobcat excavator was seen being brought to the property Sunday, reports NBC affiliate WSMV. On Saturday, officials searched a pond and an abandoned home near the property, reports WSMV.

TBI Director Mark Gwyn said in a press conference Friday that in addition to the search warrants, officials were conducting "several interviews in Decatur and surrounding counties," reports WSMV.

"This is a very important time in this investigation. We're not going to say or do anything at the point to interfere with this investigation," Gwyn reportedly said. "Hopefully we'll be able to return Holly home safely to her parents. That's our goal."
