Report: Fla. man pretended to be cop for parking spot

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Orange County deputies have arrested a man they say pretended to be a deputy so he could get a parking spot, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.

Police say Jose Ortiz, 49, walked into an Orlando hotel Sunday and told a clerk that he was an officer conducting an investigation and needed to park there. He also allegedly told another man that he was a cop, and that if the man tried to tow his car, he would arrest him.

According to WKMG, officers found Ortiz with a Taser, pepper-spray and handcuffs on his utility belt. He also reportedly had an Orange County Sheriff's Officer sticker on his car.

Ortiz was charged with impersonating an officer and booked into the Orange County jail.
