Potential explosive device found at Texas high school

KATY, Texas -- A potentially explosive device was found at Seven Lakes High School in Katy Monday morning.

CBS Affiliate KHOU reports a student has been taken into custody.

Katy ISD police learned of a perceived threat on campus around 10 a.m.

Students were escorted to an enclosed area on the football and baseball field while officers swept the campus.

 A device was found around 11 a.m., and the Houston police bomb squad was called.

The FBI and Harris County Sheriff's Office are also assisting.

Students are being dismissed, but those with bikes near the building, or car keys inside, are not allowed to retrieve them at this time. They may be picked up by a parent or may walk home. Transportation will also be provided by school bus.
