Pope Francis' visit could delay deliveries of new iPhones

Pope's trip to U.S. may delay iPhone 6s deliveries

NEW YORK -- The new iPhone is running into some divine interference.

CBS New York reports that some people who pre-ordered the iPhone 6S may have to wait an extra day to get their hands on the gadget because of the pope's visit. UPS says it will cancel deliveries in some neighborhoods because of street closures and security measures while Pope Francis is in town.

No pickups and deliveries will be available Thursday and Friday in the Manhattan zip codes 10001, 10007, 10017, 10021, 10022, 10023, 10029. Those areas include parts of downtown and midtown, as well as portions of the Upper East and Upper West Sides.

In Philadelphia, where the pope arrives Saturday, UPS says pickups and deliveries may be affected in the following zip codes: 19102, 19103, 19104, 19106, 19107, 19109, 19123, 19130, 19146 and 19147.

The new iPhone was supposed to be delivered on Friday.

For those who can't wait, CBS New York reports you can go to the UPS facility and pick up your package in person. For updated service information or to track your package, go to ups.com.
