Reward offered in case of dog found dead with cruel note

MIAMI - A $3,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or people behind the beating death of a Pomeranian in south Florida.

Broward County Crime Stoppers offered the reward, according to the Pembroke Pines Police Department.

Fox went missing Friday afternoon. The 13-year-old dog's owners found his body outside their Pembroke Pines condominium Saturday morning with a note that read, "we beat him 2 death lol HAHAHA!"

Dr. Ron Ridge, a veterinarian, says Fox had 10 broken ribs, missing teeth and a broken back. He says the animal was kicked to death.

A Facebook page for the Pomeranian had reached over 3,000 likes by Thursday morning.

Fox's owner, Ronald Boisvert, said he started the page Tuesday night to gather information to find the culprits. He thinks they are local because Fox was not wearing a collar when he disappeared yet was returned to his home.

The Broward County Crime Stoppers program is receiving donations to fund an investigation.

Pembroke Pines police is investigating.
