Police: Woman's naked body found dumped near Detroit

WESTLAND, Mich. -- Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of a woman whose beaten, naked body was found dumped along a road in Dearborn Heights, Mich., reports CBS Detroit.

The victim had been found wrapped in a bedsheet around 1 a.m. Monday not far from the Ecorse River. Police confirmed that two suspects were in custody, according to the station.

Dearborn Heights Police Chief Lee Gavin had previously told reporters that the woman, in her mid-40s -- had been badly beaten beyond recognition -- with bruising and scrapes covering her face. Investigators used fingerprints to identify her, but would not release her name.

Investigators believe the woman may have been killed in Westland and dropped off in Dearborn Heights, a small city in the Detroit metropolitan area.

An autopsy is expected to determine a cause of death, according to CBS Detroit.
