Police: Woman, 2 dogs found decapitated in Phoenix home

PHOENIX -- Police said a suspect with a history of mental illness was in custody after a grisly homicide in Phoenix on Saturday, CBS affiliate KPHO reported.

According to police, a 42-year-old male was found at his home with a severed eye and an almost-severed arm, which was hanging by the elbow.

After entering the home, police found a woman's decapitated body. Police also found two decapitated dogs in the closet.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for surgery on his eye and arm.

The crime remains under investigation and no other information was released.
