Police: Ind. teen killed after drunk driver crashes into home

PENNVILLE, Ind. -- Police say an Indiana teen was killed by a drunk driver who crashed into a home in Jay County, reports CBS affiliate WISH.

Seth Corwin, 16, was sitting on his couch watching television when Bryce Paxon drove his pickup truck through the front of the home, according to investigators. The accident reportedly occurred around 10 p.m. Friday night.

Corwin's 10-year-old stepbrother, who was also watching television with him when the crash occurred, was treated for minor injuries.

At a candlelight vigil Sunday night, family and friends remembered the teenager as a kid with a big heart, reported WISH.

"He had a good heart. he was a good person and had his whole life ahead of him," cried Corwin's aunt, Kylie Armstrong.

A family friend also said the tragedy that took the life of the 16-year-old was "senseless," causing everyone to lose their very best friend, according to the station.

"If I have any words for any of you, it's, 'Learn from this, and don't get behind the wheel of a car while you've been drinking,'" warned Amy Ault.

The Sheriff's Department said that Paxon's preliminary blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal driving limit. The 47-year-old was arrested on the scene and is expected to be formerly charged with a single charge of operating intoxicated causing death, according to CBS affiliate WANE.

Paxon will reportedly be arraigned Monday at the Jay County Superior Court.
