Police: Suspect arrested in double murder at Va. motel

PETERSBURG, Va. - Police announced Sunday that that they made an arrest in a deadly Friday night shooting at a Petersburg motel that left two dead, according to CBS affiliate WTVR.

A police spokesperson said officers found 39-year-old William Thurston III and 35-year-old Kimberly Eledge shot to death after being called to the Loyalty Inn just before 11:30 p.m. Two days later, they arrested 23-year-old Marcus Harmon.

The suspect has been charged with first-degree murder charges and several firearm violations, including possession of gun as a convicted felon, according to WTVR.

Police told the station that the suspect and the victims were mutual acquaintances, but there has been no word yet on a possible motive.

Thurston's friends and family spoke to the station, saying that Thurston leaves behind an 11-year old-daughter.
