Police: Loaded gun found in infant's bag at N.J. day care

CAMDEN, N.J. - Police say they've arrested the father of an 11-month-old girl after a day care worker found a loaded handgun in the child's bag.

Police responded to the El Centro Day Care Center in Camden Tuesday morning, where they say they recovered a 9mm handgun, loaded with hollow point rounds and reported stolen out of Philadelphia.

Police arrested the child's father, 25-year-old Rakeem Williams. The Lindenwold man faces numerous charges including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow point bullets and receiving stolen property.

Williams was sent to the county jail. Bail has been set at $50,000 cash or bond. It's unknown if he has an attorney.

Police say they contacted child protective services on behalf of the girl and her sibling.
