Police: Kentucky man charged in wife's shooting death

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --Police have arrested a man after his wife was shot and killed on Sunday,reports CBS affiliate WLKY.

The coroner has identified the victim as Amelia Lacambra, 21, according to the station. Police say her husband, 22-year-old Damien, was arrested overnight and now faces a murder charge.

The victim was reportedly shot Sunday afternoon at a home in St. Regis Park.

"Officers arrived at the scene and entered the residence and found the body of a deceased female inside. At this point our homicide detectives have taken over the investigation," a police spokesperson told CBS affiliate WLKY.

Lacambra told officers the shooting was accidental, according to the police report. He reportedly said he didn't know the gun was loaded when he pointed it at his wife and pulled the trigger.

Police aren't sure what happened before the shooting.

Police say that there was a child inside the house when the shooting occurred. That child was not hurt, according to the station.
