Police investigating Playboy model's post of naked woman at gym

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles police are investigating after a Playboy model took a photo of a naked woman in a gym locker room and posted it to social media with insulting comments about the woman's body.

Dani Mathers faced widespread criticism after she shared the photo on Snapchat with the caption: "If I can't unsee this then you can't either." She later apologized, saying the post was meant to be a private message, and deleted her social media accounts.

Police Capt. Andrew Neiman told the Los Angeles Times on Sunday that the department received a report of "illegal distribution" of the image and that detectives are investigating.

The gym, LA Fitness, reported the posting to police. It has revoked Mathers' membership. The 2015 Playboy Playmate of the year was also suspended from her radio show gig on the "Heidi and Frank" show on KLOS 95.5.

Soon after the photo went public, Mathers released an apology.
