Police investigate after ATM explodes in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA - Police in Philadelphia are investigating after an explosive device was allegedly used to blow up an ATM machine, reports CBS Philly.
Chief Inspector Scott Small told the station the machine was found Tuesday night torn apart, with pieces of it scattered around the street.
"...Some of the pieces flew 50 to 100 feet," he said.

No injuries were reported.
Police say they're still trying to determine exactly what kind of device caused the explosion, but they say they believe the blast was done on purpose - likely in an attempt to clean out the cash machine.
No money was taken from the machine, however, since the cash storage area wasn't breached, according to the station.
