Police: Fla. man shot kids, self after fight with wife

PORT ORANGE, Fla. - A man shot his three children and then himself after an argument with his wife Friday at their home in central Florida, according to law enforcement officials.

The woman fled to a neighbor's house to get help and the sheriff's office received a call at 5:11 a.m., Volusia County Sheriff's Office spokesman Gary Davidson said. The woman told deputies that her husband had threatened her with a gun during the argument.

A short time after she left the home, gunfire erupted. Arriving deputies found the man and children - two boys and a girl, ages 9 to 14 - inside the home, Davidson said. The woman was not injured.

The shooting occurred in a home in the Spruce Creek Farms subdivision of Port Orange, which is about five miles south of Daytona Beach.

Davidson said several people were taken to hospitals, but he did not provide their names or conditions.
