Police: Chicago thief targets victims in wheelchairs

CHICAGO - Chicago police are tracking a robber they say has targeted victims in wheelchairs at least twice in the city recently, reports CBS Chicago.

The incidents occurred July 22 and July 24 of this year. Both times, a suspect approached the victims and took their belongings by force.

"He picks them up physically from their wheelchair and removes their wallet, purse or bag and he flees," Chicago Det. Sgt. Rodney Hill said.

The description of the suspect is vague, but police hope somebody may know something about the crimes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8382.
