Philip Seymour Hoffman to be buried in private funeral

Philip Seymour Hoffman will be buried in a private funeral service in New York on Friday.

The gathering for close friends and family will be held at the Catholic Church of St. Ignatius Loyola on Manhattan's Upper East Side, according to the New York Daily News.

A wake for Hoffman was scheduled to take place on Thursday evening at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home, also located on the Upper East Side.

It is not known which stars are expected to attend the services, but several well-known names, including Cate Blanchett and Michelle Williams, have been spotted visiting Hoffman's partner, Mimi O'Donnell, and the couple's children in the wake of his death.

The 46-year-old actor was found dead on Sunday in the bathroom of his West Village apartment. He still had a syringe in his left arm when his body was discovered.

On Tuesday, four suspected drug dealers were arrested in possible connection with the Oscar winner's death. One of the suspects has since been released.

On Wednesday, a spokesperson for the New York City Medical Examiner deemed the results of Hoffman's autopsy inconclusive, with further tests needed.

A rep for Hoffman has said that plans are underway for a public memorial service to be held in New York some time later this month.
