Sources: Accused killer under investigation in 5 more deaths
PHILADELPHIA -- A man suspected of murder and a series of bank robberies, is now also under investigation for five additional killings, CBS Philadelphia reports.
Dion Jordan has already been arrested in relation to an Oct. 19 kidnapping, and the killing of 50-year-old Dallas Long, who was found shot to death on Oct. 17.
Police sources tell CBS Philadelphia that Jordan is now suspected in five additional murders and five bank robberies.
Surveillance from the robberies shows Jordan allegedly wearing a $2,000 custom mask and wig to alter his appearance.
In one of the string of robberies that began last June, police said Jordan fired a shot, but no one was hurt.
Jordan's West Philadelphia arrest came after a police chase following the Oct. 19 kidnapping and robbery of a man at gunpoint.
Jordan was allegedly driving the victim's car during the chase.
The FBI has joined the investigation, which on Wednesday turned to the Schuylkill River, where Philadelphia police divers spent more than four hours searching for a weapon believed to be connected to Jordan.
He has not yet been charged in any of the additional five murders.
He is being held without bail.
