Performers announced for "A Home For the Holidays" special

Jennifer Hudson, Train, Earth, Wind and Fire, Rixton, Katharine McPhee, Ashley Monroe, Dan and Shay and Jillian Michaels will perform at the 16th annual "A Home For the Holidays" special on CBS.

The special, which features uplifting stories about families who have adopted from foster care, aims to increase awareness of the 400,000 children in foster care in America. Musical performances will accompany the heartwarming stories.

"A Home For the Holidays" will broadcast Dec. 19 from 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET.

This year's telecast will highlight its first gay couple. Rich Valenza adopted a 5-year-old and 4-year-old pair of siblings shortly before meeting his now-partner Jared Gee.

No word yet on who will host. Last year, Celine Dion took on the role.
