Duran Duran to donate proceeds from Eagles of Death Metal cover to Paris attacks relief

Duran Duran is doing its part in the wake of the Paris attacks, which struck Friday, claiming the lives of 129 people and wounding many others.

The English group is donating proceeds from sales of Eagles of Death Metal's cover of Duran Duran's "Save a Prayer" to charity.

Members of the California-based Eagles of Death Metal were performing Friday night at the Paris music venue Le Bataclan when shooting broke out during the concert, killing dozens of fans.

Not only is Duran Duran trying to get the song to No. 1 on the U.K. charts, but singer Simon LeBon, who wrote the 1982 track, noted, "EODMforNo1 DuranDuran will donate all proceeds due to us, from this version. Considering options that are useful, peaceful & uniting."
