Parachutist dangles for 2 hours way up in the air

BASE jumper stuck on Mo. tower

A parachutist got stuck 155 feet in the air, hanging from a broadcast tower in south St. Louis County Thursday night, reports CBS St. Louis affiliate KMOV-TV.

The Mehlville, Missouri fire chief tells the station it was a base jump gone wrong. It was unclear where he jumped from.

His chute got hung up on support wires from a tower of the Nine Network of Public Media (PBS).

Firefighters said it was two hours before he was rescued.

The man was brought to a hospital to be checked out, and was handcuffed, authorities told KMOV.
