Police arrest mother after searchers find body of boy, 3

BLUFFTON, Ind. - Police in northeastern Indiana say the mother of 3-year-old boy reported missing over the weekend and her boyfriend have been arrested in connection with the child's death.

Breanna Arnold, 21, and Zachary Barnes, 30, both of Bluffton, face preliminary charges of child neglect resulting in death. Barnes and a 16-year-old boy are charged with abuse of a corpse. Police say the teenager is a friend of Barnes.

Bluffton police began searching for Owen Collins on Sunday afternoon after the toddler was reported missing. His body was found Sunday night in a nearby wooded area about 20 miles south of Fort Wayne.

Bluffton Police Chief Nathan Huss says investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine what caused Owen's death.

Huss says all three defendants will appear in court Tuesday.
