Man accused in Ohio triple homicide ruled unfit for death penalty

BARBERTON, Ohio- One of the brothers accused in a 2013 triple homicide was ruled unfit for the death penalty by a judge on Tuesday, reported CBS affiliate WOIO.

Michael Hendon was ruled "intellectually disabled" by Judge Amy Corrigall-Jones. He and his brother, Eric Hendon, are accused of shooting four people on New Years Eve 2013, in a home invasion and attempted robbery. Three of the victims died.

Ashley Carpenter, 18, her brother David Kohler-Carpenter, 14, and their father, John Kohler, all died after being shot in their home. Ronda Blankenship, John's girlfriend, survived.

Michael Hendon's trial was supposed to start Wednesday. Jury selection for Eric is scheduled to begin in October, reported the station.
