One arrested, two questioned after Ga. cop shooting
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - One person has been taken into custody and two people are being questioned after a police officer in Cobb County, Ga. was shot Tuesday morning during a traffic stop, reports CBS Atlanta.
The man in custody was found hiding in an unoccupied house not far from the traffic stop, and is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, according to the station.
The two others were reportedly detained quickly.
The officer was shot around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday after pulling over a blue Volvo.
Investigators recovered the Volvo a short distance down the street. It was being trailed by a 2011 red Ford Fusion, according to police. Police were searching for three suspects - two men and a woman.
It is unclear which car the shots were fired from, reports the station.
The officer was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment. He is reportedly listed in stable but good condition.
The veteran officer has been on the police force for a year and a half, according to the station.
Police have not released the names of the suspects or the officer.
