Off-duty N.J. police officer found shot to death in car
SAYREVILLE, N.J. -- An off-duty New Jersey police officer has been found dead from a gunshot wound in his car in the parking lot of a closed movie theater complex, reports CBS New York.
Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey said that the Sayreville police officer was found dead around 7:15 a.m. Monday morning.
James O'Neill, a spokesman for the prosecutor, said that the department was investigating after being alerted to a report of a body near the former movie theater off Route 9 in Sayreville.

Police cars and investigators were linked up on a highway next to the closed movie theater.
