Obama aces his latest physical

President Obama is in "excellent" overall health, according to the results of a physical examination released by his doctor on Thursday.

"The President continues to focus on healthy lifestyle choices," wrote Dr. Ronny L. Jackson, Mr. Obama's personal physician and the director of the White House medical unit. "He eats a healthy diet, exercises daily, remains tobacco free, and only drinks alcohol occasionally and in moderation."

"All clinical data indicates that the President is currently healthy and that he will remain so for the duration of his Presidency," Jackson added.

The release noted that the president occasionally chews nicotine gum, a practice he's said helped wean him off a cigarette habit.

The exam was the president's third physical since assuming office in 2009. His previous physical, completed in October 2011, also yielded a clean bill of health.
