Arrest made in Oakland ice cream man murder

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Police have arrested a man suspected in the murder of Oakland ice cream vendor Jasvir Singh, reports CBS San Francisco.

According to the station, police believe Joevan Lopez is responsible for the October 3 shooting. Singh, 45, reportedly crashed into a parked car after he was shot five times by a gunman who approached his ice cream truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting stunned neighbors who said Singh was a familiar face in the neighborhood.

The Alameda County District Attorney's Office is reviewing the case and formal charges are expected later this week, reports the station.
